ACA CURRENT NEWS

Jon Aaron has recently signed an agreement with Hazard Chase Ltd of Cambridge and London (www.hazardchase.co.uk) to act as North American consultant. In this capacity, he will advice the various artist managers at HC on touring for the various HC artists. He will also return to his role as North American representative of The Tallis Scholars whose career in North America he was instrumental in establishing from the mid-80’s until 2002. As well, he will be working on special projects including a tour of the Juiliet Letters with Elvis Costello and the Brodsky String Quartet; Dowland’s Tearful Steps with Fretwork, Rosie Kay Dance Company, and mezzo-soprano Claire Wilkinson. He will be seeking out interesting projects from the US for the UK and European marketplace to be handled by the HC touring and special projects division.

Jordi Savall, with Hesperion XXI and La Capella Reial will be joined by Oscar award winning actor F. Murray Abraham in a performance of their highly acclaimed program based around the texts of Cervantes. This performance will be featured as part of Lincoln Center’s New Visions Literary Muse, series and will also be heard at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and as part of the Friends of Chamber Music Series in Kansas City. Savall will return in February to open the opening concert in the re-opening week of Alice Tully Hall.

Benjamin Bagby and Sequentia will make its Symphony Hall debut in Boston as part of the BSO subscription series November 6,7 8. The ensemble of six men will present songs from the Camina Burana Manuscript as the first half of the program which on the second half will feature, what else, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana which will be conducted by Raphael Frübeck de Burgos. Later in November, Bagby and Sequentia (in another permutation) will present a new program at the Cite de Musique in Paris on the Percival legend.
